Really getting involved in my iPhone 4S

With competition crossing over the Atlantic Ocean from the United States to the United Kingdom, English mobile carriers have seen to beat the prices of some of its competitors. Two have proved to be the cheapest carriers to be selling the state-of-the-art mobile device in England through awesome iPhone plans. Since the release of iPhone 4s, these two have restructured its iPhone plans to beat other carriers in terms of its tariff. If you are interested for an iPhone 4s, you should just visit a store or a website. They have scraped upfront for the mobile device, selling the device on a two year contract where the buyer pays $65 per month about 41 sterling pounds according to current currency exchange rates. The carrier is offered more minutes on talk time as well as SMS compared to other carriers such as three. This deal does not cover internet charges. Therefore, subscribers would probably require an extra $5 for 100MB every month.

The Apple iPhone

Last week Apple announced that the successor to the iPhone 4, the iPhone 4S, would be released on October the 14th.

In Australia, the iPhone 4S will be available on a number of carriers including Optus, Virgin, Telstra and Vodafone. The iPhone 4S on Vodafone will be the best value as Vodafone have had a bad year with their networks and they are trying to win customers back to their service with lower cost, higher value plans.

The new iPhone 4S is a feature rich phone, however it has not changed to the iPhone 4 appearance wise. The iPhone 4S still maintains the same aesthetic design as the iPhone 4 and although this may disappoint many people, it is an excellent design regardless.

The iPhone 4S has had upgrades to the camera, processor, antenna system and software. Apple are hoping that all these upgrades will tempt people to upgrade their existing handsets.

Win me a TV!

Everyone seems to have a TV and they seem to be dropping a lot in price these days, but if you don’t have one you can still try to win a tv by joining online competitions.

There are a lot of competitions out there that will allow have prizes that are TV’s and are free to enter.

There are a number of reasons why these companies are giving away TV’s. The first reason is that the company may be doing a social media promotion. A company may have launched a new Facebook site and want to promote it, so they create a competition where you can win a tv if you like their Facebook page.

The second reason is that it could be a way of getting you to join their mailing list of products. A company may say that in return for you accepting their emails, they will put you in with a chance to win a TV.

The iPhone 4S in Australia

It was not the Apple product launch that a new CEO would of wanted to start off with, but it was. New Apple CEO Tim Cook, took the reigns from Steve Jobs a number of months ago and has been pressured to prove his ability to continue the legacy of Steve Jobs.

Unfortunately he was given a disappointed reception when he introduced the new iPhone 4S. It was widely expected that the iPhone 5 was going to be announced, especially since observers thought Tim would try to prove himself.

The iPhone 4S is an aesthetically boring upgrade of the iPhone 4. The phones changes are all internal and the outside shell stays exactly the same. The phone has been give a number of performance related upgraded. The first being a faster processor which is the same one used in the iPad 2. The second being an improved 8 megapixel camera.

The iPhone 4S is similarly priced to previous version with iPhone plans starting at $199.

Is the internet at risk?

It has been reported that Google believe the rise of Apple and Facebook challenges the freedom  of the internet as we know it. Sergey Brin (co-founder of Google) believes that the rise of platforms such as Apple and Facebook are putting excessive restrictions on freedom of information online.

He has also said that the attempt by US authorities to clamp down on internet piracy has meant that the US is now using the same tools that the Chinese government uses to attempt to control the information available to it’s citizens.

Not only is there a restriction on innovation, according to Brin, the companies are restricting innovation by limiting the types of software that can be installed on theses platforms and devices.

The new Audi Q3

It’s almost time for a car upgrade. It’s been a while since I’ve driven a nice car and in the past I  have been put of by the ridiculous cost of servicing luxury cars. In fact, I was once charged $1400 for a the service of my Lexus IS200. That has compelled me to insist that I would never purchase a luxury car again. Mind you, that has not stopped me from entering free competitions in the hope that I could get lucky. I have now resigned myself to the fact that if I find cheap deals on the luxury car I love, I would most likely go ahead with it. We do spend a long time in our car each day commuting to and from work so why not do it in comfort? Also, with the growth of my family, it does hit you that you should drive a vehicle that is bigger and safer.

More cores are a waste of battery?

Nokia has had a really had a hard time time trying to convince the world that they are relevent in the smart phone market. They have seen their market share in the rapidly growing smart phone market decrease from over 50% down to what it is now which is around 15%. Even in their bread and butter low end of the market devices, they are seeing a rapid decline in market share. The company was last week overtaken by the mighty Samsung in terms of overall market share. The strategy taken by Nokia is either not working or is taking too long to take effect.

This week Nokia’s chief, Stephen Elop told a newspaper in China that multi-core devices are a waste of batteries as they aren’t useful the whole time a person uses their device. An intresting comment from a company that will soon be offering dual core windows powered devices.

Well, I just purchase the new iPad

When i was first looking at purchasing an iPad 3 (or new iPad), my biggest concern was that it would end up being like every other gadget I have. I really want it so I get it but I never end up using it. So, I already have a Galaxy Tab 7inch, I have a netbook and I have a laptop. Do I really need an iPad as well as iPad plans to go with it? probably not, but since I’ve bought it, I DO love it. Yes, it’s just a big version of my iPhone, but it has key things which make it great. It has a beautiful bright screen for playing games and watching movies on but most importantly, it has apps. I have discovered a use for it which I never realised I could, productivity at work. There are project apps and notetaking software that will revolutionise the way I do work. I also get a data plan provided to me by my work so I don’t even need to purchase one.

The iPhone 4S in Australia

It feels like all that people are buying technology wise these days is either a iPhone or a Samsung Galaxy S2. It seems like both of these phones are dominating the market at the moment and you’re either a Apple fanboy or you’re an Apple hater which means you will probably love Android. In Australia, iPhone 4S plans have strangely been going up in price even though the device has been around for a number of months now. With most technology you would expect the price to go down however the popularity of the iPhone has meant that carriers are able to raise their prices. It’s a different story for the Samsung Galaxy S2. It has been around for a fair amount of time now and the new version of the device is coming out soon. It is therefore no surprise that the you can get Samsung Galaxy S2 plans for pretty cheap now.

A valet parking attendant caused approximately $500,00 of damage after he reportedly drove a Maserati sports car too fast and ploughed into a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Jeep Grand Cherokee then crashed into a Maserati Grand Turismo then hit a Mini Countryman and a classic Porsche 356 Speedster. The valet did more damage than he’ll ever get in tips thats for sure.
